The Fort Dearborn Chapter officers attended the Illinois Society Children of the American Revolution (ISCAR) annual conference and elections. At the conference, we were introduced to Julia H., junior state president, and her project to raise $5,000 for the Heart of a Marine Foundation. Julia presented her project later at the Illinois Society, Sons of the American Revolution in May.
The Fort Dearborn Chapter was so impressed with Julia's project and the fantastic work that the Heart of a Marine Foundation is doing for the veteran's community, the Fort Dearborn Chapter voted unanimously to support ISCAR and Julia's project. Fort Dearborn has committed it's 2017 veterans support budget of $800 toward the project as well as the sale of all challenge coins in 2017. We encourage all of you to support the ISCAR and Julia in raising money for this very worthwhile foundation which is doing great things for veterans nationwide. If you would like to make a donation towards this project, please use our 'donate' button at the bottom of the page and we will see that the funds are contributed to the project. |
