SAR Mentor Program

President General (2016) J. Michael Tomme reinforced the need for mentors in his inaugural speech.  PG Tomme has tasked the Membership Committee with developing a program aimed in coupling new members that have a desire to learn more about the SAR with an existing member that possesses that knowledge.  More information available in the SAR Mentor Program flyer.

Flag Certificates

All Fort Dearborn members are encouraged to issue at least one Flag Certificate per year.  The Flag Certificate can be issued to any individual or organization flying the flag for patriotic purposes.  Certificates may be ordered from the NSSAR store.  Please contact the Flag Chairman or contact us for additional information.

JROTC Program

Exemplfied by the Minutemen of the Revolutionary War days, the Fort Dearborn Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution issues the ROTC medal.  For more information about the program visit the NSSAR ROTC page or contact the JROTC Chairman.

Friends of the Library

The SAR Library located in West Main Street at the Louisville, Kentucky headquarters houses over 55,000 books.  While most of the books are from the Revolutionary War era, many books have a genealogical significance.  The Friends of the Library program was implemented to help the library reach its objectives.

Patriot Grave Marking

A Patriot Grave Marking is a service conducted by the Sons of the American Revolution honoring a Patriot from the American Revolution with an unveiling of a new grave marker or lug. ​
